The Council of Italian Restaurants in AustraliaIn 2004 twelve Italian-Australian restaurateurs met to form The Council of Italian Restaurants in Australia (CIRA) a not-for-profit organisation to promote the values of Italian food and perpetuate authentic Italian cuisine in Australia. This is inclusive of cultural and educational objectives. CIRA has been formed and is now consulting with others in the industry including restaurants, industry associates and friends to broaden membership, operating a cooking school and encouraging young apprentices to participate in the CIRA-ALMA Young Talent Award. Pizza e Birra Italy is undergoing a revolution...of beer! All over Italy these days you find many boutique breweries - small, artisanal, unique and delicious. Pizza being a perfect food match meant that our most recent CIRA pop up dinner was a great success.

CIRA Young Talent Award Winner Announced Luke Piccolo from Pendolino won the CIRA SanPellegrino Young Talent Award. The announcement was made at a dinner at Pilu at Freshwater on the 12th November.
